This policy describes the account, access, activity, settings, and communications information associated with prospective and current app users.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information associated with people who join the MovTide waitlist, request app access, sign in to or use the app, or contact us.
It focuses on information associated with prospective and current app users.
2. Information we collect
Optional waitlist name, email address, Google-account name, email, provider identifier and profile image, account role and approval status, access-code redemption, display name, and authentication sessions.
App opens, session start and end times, last-seen timestamps, approximate visible active time, sign-ins and sign-outs, page visits, search queries and filters, published-event opens, professional-profile link opens, profile-setting changes, appearance preferences, and related account activity.
Information you include when you contact us, submit a privacy request, request support, or provide feedback.
We do not ask for government identifiers, financial-account credentials, precise geolocation, health information, biometric templates, or sensitive-trait profiles. Please do not submit them.
3. How we use user information
We use user information to:
- process waitlist and app-access requests;
- authenticate users, control access, maintain accounts, and provide the app;
- save profile settings, measure return use and approximate session activity, and improve the app;
- respond to privacy requests, support communications, and feedback;
- secure the app, detect misuse, and enforce our Terms; and
- comply with law and protect rights and safety.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, legitimate interests in providing and securing a business service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where requested. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis.
4. How we disclose user information
We may disclose user information to:
- service providers: Google for sign-in and providers that support hosting, databases, security, and app operations;
- professional advisers and authorities: when reasonably necessary for legal, security, audit, insurance, or compliance purposes; and
- a successor: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell user personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access, correct, delete, restrict, object, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, opt out of certain disclosures, or appeal a decision about your request.
Email exiang@tsunacle.io with “Privacy request” in the subject. Describe the right you want to exercise and the account email needed to locate your information. We may verify your identity and authority before responding. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. Some account, security, and audit information may be retained where law permits.
6. California disclosures
California residents may have rights to know, access, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service. In the preceding 12 months, MovTide may have collected the user-data categories described above, including identifiers, account activity, account-access information, settings, and communications.
We may disclose these categories to the recipients described above for business purposes. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
To request access, correction, or deletion, email exiang@tsunacle.io. MovTide operates online and provides this email method for privacy requests.
7. Retention
We retain user information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide and manage app access, maintain account and audit integrity, respond to requests, enforce agreements, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
Waitlist entries, account information, app-session telemetry, account activity, settings, and communications may have different retention periods based on these purposes. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before deletion through normal rotation.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the information we process, including access controls, hashed access codes and session tokens, encrypted integration secrets, secure transport, restricted operational access, and visibility controls. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International use
MovTide and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data-protection laws differ from those where you live. Where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms and appropriate safeguards.
10. Children
The Service is for business users and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child’s information has been submitted.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service or law changes. We will post the updated version, revise the date above, and provide additional notice for material changes when reasonably practical. We review this Policy at least annually.
